About Us:
Expedite Renewable Energy (ERE) is your one-stop-shop to assess current electricity usage, strategize the best onsite renewable energy projects and implement your project from start to finish. With skyrocketing electricity rates and pending federal carbon cap and trade legislation, companies need to reduce their electricity costs in order to remain competitive in the market place.
Expedite Renewable Energy helps companies with the many steps associated with investing in on-site renewable energy projects. From determining what type of renewable energy project is best for your company to applying for grants to help fund your project to negotiating your interconnection contract with your utility company, Expedite Renewable Energy can help you achieve your goals.
Stefanie Spear, president of ERE, has been working on environmental/energy issues for more than 20 years. As project manager of the Pearl Wind Project at Pearl Road Auto Parts and Wrecking, Spear helped the first Cleveland business to capture the wind to generate electricity. This company installed a 120 Kw remanufactured Vestas wind turbine that generates more than half of the company's electricity needs.
Spear was instrumental in helping write the City of Cleveland's wind turbine zoning legislation and is working to encourage other Northeast Ohio communities to pass similar legislation. Spear is actively lobbying for the passage of other policies that will help ignite the transition to renewable energy sources and create green jobs. Spear is founder and executive director of EcoWatch, a nonprofit organization that unites the voice of the grassroots environmental movement and editor of EcoWatch Journal.
Spear is the chair of the Green Commission at the Village of Moreland Hills and co-chairs the green team at Fairmount Temple. She is on the board of advisors for GreenCityBlueLake Institute, Tri-C's Green Academy and Center for Sustainability, and Sunflower Solutions. She co-chairs the steering committee for the Advanced Energy Generation for Sustainable Cleveland 2019.
Spear will work with your company to assess, strategize and implement the right project(s) to meet your individualized needs. Her expertise in renewable energy generation and commitment to reducing carbon emissions is a winning combination for any company interested in reducing their electricity costs.
ERE was launched in 2008, thanks to the Civic Innovation Lab. The Civic Innovation Lab fuels innovation by providing mentoring and funding of up to $30,000 for ideas that can improve the Greater Cleveland economy. Since 2003, the Lab has granted over $1.3MM to 50 great ideas. Included in this portfolio are initiatives to foster downtown vibrancy, attract and retain talent, support entrepreneurship and build emerging industries. The Lab puts the soul in the city's economic development.
